I can guarantee this will be the best movie you'll see at the cinema this year, with Free Guy becoming our first 10/10 movie to be reviewed on the Ten Point Podcast blog! Read on to find out why I loved it!

Meet Guy; a bank clerk working in a city constantly under attack, with criminals on every block taking part in bank heists, murders, robberies, car theft, assault... you name it, it's happening. He's THE most positive person you'll find in Free City. He loves his routine, working with his best friend Buddy, picking up a coffee in the morning on his way into work... but there are some things he's less enamoured with, and something just isn't sitting quite right. After an encounter with a mysterious woman he discovers that he's an NPC in the world's most popular open-world video game which is destined to be canned!
This movie is such a great watch! It's got action, comedy, amazing special effects... What more could you want? There's more though, because it has a punchy script, a stellar cast list and some of the best throwbacks and references to games we've all come to know and enjoy that I've seen in film (I'm looking at you Pixels). I found the characters to be lovable from the get-go, and I don't think I've found a Ryan Reynolds movie that I haven't liked yet so I'm pleased Free Guy didn't buck that trend. Jodie Comer has to be one of my favourite up and coming actresses, with the ability to convey a spectrum of emotion and she holds a huge variety of accents under her belt. She's a great co-star to the ever charismatic Ryan Reynolds. Channing Tatum cameos had me absolutely cackling - it seems that's something he's became known for! The design of the open-world was super cool and I can imagine it would be great to explore with an Oculus headset on. The way in which they put together the first person scenes was pretty slick too compared with other movies including, Doom and Hardcore Henry, which I really didn't enjoy because of this particular detail! Development of characters was neither here nor there, as you'll come to realise there are definitely only a few characters you'll be glued to throughout.
I can't even get all of my words out because I enjoyed this movie so much, and I really don't want to spoil it for anyone, but let me say that the scenes with Dude might make you cry laugh, including some well known weapons during a fight sequence!
